Can you spot the one who will betray Jesus?

This was a special night. Jesus and his friends were to share the Passover meal together.
Two of the disciples went looking for a man with the water jar who would lead them to the room already prepared for their special meal. They did not know this was to be the very last meal that Jesus would share with them.
Later, as they gathered round the table, Jesus began to talk to them about what would happen to him – very soon.
“One of you will betray me.” he said
The disciples were upset. How could Jesus think that they would let him down like that?
But Jesus had always known what was in their hearts. They knew only too well that they were not perfect people…and so they asked themselves….” will it be me?” and out loud they said, “ Surely, it’s not me??”
” It will be one of you sharing this meal with me tonight. I have to die, that is already clear but how much worse for the one who betrays me.”
Have you ever let one of your friends down? Perhaps you have promised to go somewhere with them or they really wanted you to go their birthday party and you didn’t go. How did you feel? Letting a friend down is something that they and you find hard to forget.

Think about your friends and thank Jesus for them. Amen (like saying, “I agree!”)
